06 — Earthworks
Our earthworks division delivers cut-and-fill, topsoil stripping, site levelling, muck-away and formation works for developers, local authorities and infrastructure clients. All plant is operated by CPCS-ticketed personnel, and works are compliant with CDM 2015 requirements throughout.
We support projects from initial site clearance through to final formation and landscaping preparation. Our fleet includes excavators from 1.5t to 20t, dump trucks, rollers and dozers. All machines are maintained under LOLER and PUWER requirements with current statutory inspection records.
Every earthworks contract is documented with site-specific RAMS, and we coordinate with principal contractors, designers and other trades under CDM arrangements. We handle waste classification and disposal through licensed carriers and facilities, maintaining duty of care documentation throughout.
We work closely with our vegetation clearance and fencing teams to deliver integrated site preparation — taking land from raw state through to construction-ready formation in a single mobilisation. This integrated approach reduces programme duration, eliminates coordination gaps between separate contractors, and gives clients a single point of accountability for the entire site preparation phase.
We prepare development sites from greenfield or brownfield condition to construction-ready formation. Works include vegetation clearance, topsoil strip and storage, subsoil excavation and regrading, formation to design levels, and compaction testing. We work to engineer-specified tolerances and coordinate with ground investigation and remediation contractors where contamination is present.
We excavate drainage runs, service trenches, attenuation features and SuDS infrastructure as part of our earthworks packages. Works include trench excavation to specification, bedding and surround materials, backfill and reinstatement. We coordinate with utility providers and drainage engineers to deliver infrastructure earthworks within the overall site programme.
